HOW DOES KYBELLA WORK?
The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.
When injected into fat, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.
During a Kybella procedure, the solution is typically injected into the fat beneath the chin. The injections are targeted into specific areas based on the person’s anatomy and fat deposits. Once the injections are complete, the patient can return to work or their normal activities immediately.
I'M NERVOUS. WHAT'S IT LIKE?
Your Kybella treatment at LA Dermatology Laser & Cosmetic Center only takes about 30 minutes, which makes it perfect for those who are always on-the-go. At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin. The exact number of injections will depend on the amount of fat you have under your chin and your desired profile. Injections occur monthly until desired result is achieved.
After KYBELLA® treatment, you will likely have some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin. Swelling and injection-site bruising are common side effects. These are temporary and should subside within a few weeks after your treatment.
