Sculptra is a collagen stimulator that delivers poly-L-lactic acid deep under your skin to stimulate the collagen production process in your body. Your skin produces new collagen and elastin that build up your skin, creating volume, lift, and a long-lasting rejuvenation. Dr. Mary Dickerson uses Sculptra to:
Build up cheekbones
Restore sunken lower cheeks and temples
Fill in deep nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and chin wrinkles
For optimal results, you may need a series of Sculptra injections. Sculptra lasts for up to 2 years.
Sculptra is a facial injectable that works deep within the dermis to help replace lost collagen and gradually restore the look of fullness to areas of the face most affected by the hands of time. Each Sculptra treatment provides a refined, youthful, and natural-looking appearance that can last up to two years. Sculptra is completely different from traditional fillers. Sculptra affects the foundation of the face, restoring the underlying structure of the skin. Sculptra works gradually to stimulate your own body’s collagen production, resulting in a natural, more beautiful and youthful-looking you!
I'M NERVOUS. WHAT'S IT LIKE?
You will be numbed for this procedure and feel only slight pressure. Immediately following the treatment, Dr. Dickerson will massage treated areas. You’ll be asked to continue the massage therapy five times a day over the next five days at home.
Some patients notice redness, mild swelling and tenderness at the injection sites after treatment. Minor bruising or lumps may also occur. These usually go away on their own within a week. There will likely be a slight fullness in the treated area from the water in Sculptra for at least two days after treatment.
Wrinkle and volume loss
The injected volume immediately fills out the wrinkles and volume loss.
In the first phase just days after injection, the water in the Sculptra is absorbed by the body with a slight increase in wrinkle depth.
During the next phase, a natural soft build up of connective tissue, smoothing out wrinkles and contour defects.
At approximately 6 weeks clear improvement can be seen. Larger volume defects may involve further treatments.
